Always follow your doctor’s prescribed dosage. Do not adjust the dose yourself.
Budesonide inhalation powder typically comes in a single-dose or multi-dose inhaler. Instructions may vary slightly depending on the specific device; always refer to the patient information leaflet included with your medication.
1 | Check the inhaler counter (if applicable) to confirm the number of doses remaining. |
2 | Prepare your inhaler: Ensure it is loaded with a dose (if using a multi-dose inhaler). For single-dose inhalers, carefully remove the single-dose unit from the blister pack. |
3 | Breathe out completely. |
4 | Bring the inhaler to your mouth, placing the mouthpiece between your lips, sealing your lips around it. |
5 | Inhale deeply and steadily. Hold your breath for 10 seconds, if possible. |
6 | Slowly exhale. |
7 | Rinse your mouth with water after each dose to minimize the risk of oral thrush. |
8 | If prescribed more than one dose, wait approximately one minute before taking the next dose. |
9 | Always replace the inhaler cap. |
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time for your next dose. Don’t double the dose to make up for a missed one. If you have questions regarding dosage or administration, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
