Ciprodex otic drops dosage

Always follow your doctor’s instructions. However, typical Ciprodex dosage involves two drops in the affected ear(s) twice daily, morning and evening. Ensure you thoroughly clean the ear canal before application to maximize effectiveness.

The recommended treatment duration is generally 7 to 10 days. Do not exceed this period without consulting your physician. Prolonged use can lead to unwanted side effects, including yeast overgrowth.

Proper administration is key. Gently pull the earlobe upward and backward (adults) or downward and backward (children) to straighten the ear canal. This allows for better penetration of the medication. After application, gently massage the area outside the ear to help distribute the drops.

Important Note: Ciprodex is for outer ear infections only. Do not use it for middle ear infections or if you have a perforated eardrum. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience worsening symptoms, increased pain, or hearing changes during treatment.
